Unit Outline:

The unit focuses on the development of relationships within a family context and the importance of understanding ourselves in relation to the way we feel and respond in given situations.

Achievement Standards:

By the end of Year 4, students should be able to:
Investigate how Christians make loving choices that are informed by the example of Jesus.

Unit Outcomes:

By the end of the unit students should be able to:

  1. Understand and appreciate that God is revealed to us in and through relationships with family friends and community.
  2. Demonstrate a respect for others and exhibit appropriate behaviour for maintaining commitment and social responsibility within relationships.
  3. Identify what it means to feel safe, have a sense of identity and self worth and describe methods for recognising and avoiding harmful situations.
  4. Describe the stages of human development across the human life span.
