Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd in partnership with FRG Ministry and Sandhurst Youth Ministry proudly presented Ablaze this year as part of our exploration of this year's theme, ‘Let your words always be full of grace.’

The Ablaze events were a spirited experience led by Sandhurst’s world-renowned performer, Fr Rob Galea, together with local and national speakers engaging the youth and staff from within our Sandhurst schools.

The Ablaze event is an initiative of Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd to reach out to young people, providing a platform combining live music, engaging and energetic speakers while providing an opportunity for students to celebrate and learn about their faith alongside their peers and students from Deanery schools.

Positive and affirming feedback was received from many participants across the Diocese, including:

  • ‘It was a fun performance and we all loved it!’
  • ‘We loved the day listening to Fr Rob! What a privilege! The performance was brilliant! Fr Rob'sRobs message related beautifully to spreading the “good news” and we loved his link to social media especially instagram and the influence one can have! How to be an influencer???  And a good one at that!!’
  • ‘There was a countdown till it started, and we all screamed when it finally did start. Father Rob Galea and his band walked onto stage. There were heaps of songs that we sang too. Father Rob was AWESOME!’

Each of us are invited to continue to ‘Tell the Good News’ and share the fruits of this energetic and spiritual experience with others.

Ablaze 2021 - Festival in Shepparton

For the first time in three years, well-known Sandhurst priest, Fr Rob Galea returned to Shepparton as he and his band performed for more than 1000 students over two days at the Ablaze Youth Festival.

The full-scale rock concert took place between 10.20am and 12.20pm on Thursday May 5 for primary students from grades 5 and 6, and on Friday May 6 for secondary students from years 9-11.

The Ablaze youth concerts also included an event for educators this year which took place on Thursday afternoon at 4.15pm – 5.15pm.

The event hit the right note with students with high-energy music, testimonials and liturgy. The event also featured notable local and national youth speakers along with Fr Rob and his band.

Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd in partnership with FRG Ministry and Sandhurst Youth Ministry combined to present Ablaze in 2022 as part of the exploration of this year's theme, ‘Tell the Good News.’
